Ingles THE CLASH.

Khaoticos es la única banda del continente Americano a participar a este
tributo.

El tema
interpretado por Khaoticos es uno de los mayores éxitos del grupo Ingles, se
trata de “LONDON CALLING”, presente en el disco homónimo de The Clash de 1979.

Copan Update

Live music in Copan Ruinas can be an infrequent, hit or miss affair. More often than not, the live entertainment consists of a lone acoustic guitar player strumming out sets, which consists of the requisite expat bar room fare. The Eagles, Jimmy Buffet, and a bunch of bland, bimbo pop tunes from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. However, once in a while a hot young band from the big city will cruise into town under the cover of darkness bringing with it good, young, fresh rock n' roll, for one night. Copan's premier rock venue has historically and exclusively been Tunkul Bar. A couple of times a year, owner Rene Hernandez who just happens to be the dean of Copan bar proprietors, books a band from San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa or Guatemala.
This past week, Tunkul booked "The Khaoticos," a relatively new band from San Pedro Sula that has been around about two years. The bands forte is classic rock as well as a healthy dose of crowd pleasing rock en espanol. The band, which boasts two male lead singers, is hard driving, powerful and aims to please, and please the Copan crowd they did. In the intimate low lit setting of Tunkul's tropical outdoor garden, the band played their heart out till 2a.m., which is all the more impressive when one considers that just about everything in Copan shuts down by about 10 p.m. or so.
The strong male lead vocals are the Khaotico's strength. The singers pranced, danced, and gyrated through the sets, leaving this writer to compare the lead singer to the Honduran equivalent of Jim Morrison. Tall, good looking, charismatic, and dancing up a rock n' roll storm, the lead singer captivated the audience like no other Honduran rock singer this writer has ever seen. The crowd responded in turn, with a bevy of enthusiastic dancers accompanying the band throughout their sets. One stunningly attractive young college student in the crowd literally danced up a virtual storm -the entire night- non-stop, and when there was nobody left to dance with, she danced one on one with the lead singer. Hats off to Rene of Tunkul Bar for being the driving force behind promoting live rock in Copan Ruinas. It is due to him that live rock n' roll in this little corner of rural Honduras continues to scratch out a tenuous toehold.
